Visiting Researcher at the Institute of Occupational, Social, and Environmental Medicine at the University Hospital of RWTH Aachen

The Institute of Occupational, Social, and Environmental Medicine at the University Hospital of RWTH Aachen (IASU) is delighted to welcome Mr. Carot Lemo from the Centre Pasteur Yaoundé for further training starting on April 1, 2023. This training will be integrated into the activities of the INTEWAR project.

As part of the planned training, Mr. Carot Lemo will deepen and expand his knowledge and skills in analytical inquiries related to water, soil, air, and biomonitoring. Topics will include sample collection, sample storage, sample preparation, and sample measurement.

Furthermore, the training program will cover the following techniques and methods:

  • Gas chromatography,
  • Liquid chromatography,
  • Ion chromatography,
  • Atomic absorption spectroscopy,
  • GC, LC, and ICP mass spectrometry.

Additionally, Mr. Carot Lemo will have the opportunity to intern at the Institute of Environmental Engineering at RWTH Aachen to gain insights into specific technical and microbial issues in water management.

The duration of the training will be a total of four months. During this period, Mr. Lemo will also conceptually develop his doctoral project on the topic of environmental monitoring.
