Project structure
The overall objective of the interdisciplinary collaborative project INTEWAR is the mitigation of water-associated diseases during and after disaster events in the partner country Cameroon. By applying established – and developing new methods from technology and research, the consortium contributes to disaster prevention and mitigation as well as disaster management and restoration.
The following key areas of work are part of the research project:
- Basic data research and collection. Preparation and evaluation of data
- Hydrodynamic modelling and preparation of flood hazard and risk maps
- Development of guidelines for floods and drought disaster scenarios
- Development and implementation of technical solutions for flood protection and decentralised drinking water supply
- Raising awareness, risk communication and training with relevant stakeholders
